Meet Dr. Christopher Ethridge

Aiken Chiropractor Dr. Christopher EthridgeDr. Ethridge’s path to chiropractic began with an injury of his own. While working as a contractor, he fractured two vertebrae and suddenly faced the possibility of surgery and months away from his livelihood.

His wife encouraged him to visit a chiropractor. After receiving chiropractic care, Dr. Ethridge returned to work in under two weeks and ultimately did not undergo the proposed surgery. The experience changed the direction of his life and led him to pursue a career in chiropractic.

In 2009, he opened Living Well Family Chiropractic in Aiken, a community where he and his wife knew no one. Building the practice from the ground up meant earning each patient’s trust one relationship at a time.

Training That Shapes His Approach Today

Dr. Ethridge draws from several adjusting methods rather than using the same approach for every patient. He also trained directly with Dr. Roy Sweat, founder of the Atlas Orthogonal technique, learning its detailed approach to X-ray analysis and upper cervical alignment.

While Dr. Ethridge does not use the specialized tables associated with the Atlas Orthogonal technique, aspects of that training continue to inform how he evaluates patients. He combines those principles with other hands-on and instrument-assisted methods based on each person’s age, comfort level and clinical findings.

A Doctor Who Listens First

Dr. Ethridge introduces himself formally, but patients are soon invited to call him Dr. Chris. It’s a small gesture that reflects the relaxed, personal atmosphere he wants patients to experience.

He also wants to know more than where something hurts. Your hobbies, work, daily routine and the activities you’ve had to change can all help him understand the bigger picture.

That same emphasis carries into his report of findings. Rather than simply telling patients what he sees, Dr. Ethridge takes time to walk through their X-rays, explain his findings and answer questions. For him, helping someone understand their care is an important part of the process.

Life Outside the Office

Away from the practice, Dr. Chris enjoys fishing, hunting and hiking around Aiken. He and his wife, Kameron, who works alongside him at the practice, are also proud grandparents to two grandchildren.
Family is a big part of life outside the office, and spending time with his grandkids is one of his favorite ways to enjoy it.
